Basis Desk Verify — help and support

Getting started

1. Pin the extension: click the puzzle icon in the toolbar and pin Basis Desk Verify.
2. Open any crypto article, post or token page and click the Basis Desk icon (or press Alt+Shift+V). The side panel opens with coverage, prices, primary documents and contracts found on the page.
3. Press Check the claims to compare the page’s key claims with the sources.
4. To check one sentence, select it, right-click and choose Verify with Basis Desk.

Common problems

• “This page can’t be read” — browser pages (chrome://), the Chrome Web Store and PDFs are off limits to extensions. Open a regular web page.
• Switched tabs and the panel shows the old page — click the icon again on the new tab; the extension reads a page only when you ask.
• No Basis Desk story — we cover regulation, markets, security, protocols and institutions; smaller stories may not have coverage yet. Primary documents, prices and token checks still work.
• The shortcut does nothing — another extension may use Alt+Shift+V. Change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
• Daily limit reached — claim checks have a daily limit per browser to keep the service free. Everything else keeps working.
